Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about the Soap

Do any of the soap contain Essential Oil

No. During the process of saponification all oils are turned into soap. Most if not all benefits of the essential oil would be lost or altered during the process of saponification. The smell may stay, but would raise the cost of the bar of soap.

Do I make tallow or goat milk soap?

No. All my products are vegan friendly. I create vegan friendly products to make them more inclusive to a larger audience.

I have no ethical issues against using animal products, I just choose not to. There are a few other Local companies who use these products and I encourage you to check them out. Such as Lone Goat Soap Co, and Ryan Creek Tallow Skincare

What is Lye?

Lye is an alkali that is used in soap making. Lye reacts with oils and fats and turns the oils and fats into soap in a process called Saponification.

In properly made soap all the lye is used up during saponification and there is no lye left in the soap.

How long do the bars last?

I cure the soap for a minimum of 4 weeks before selling. This allows excess water to evaporate which creates a harder and longer lasting bar.

I cannot give you a time frame for how long the bars will last, but if treated properly it does last a while. I suggest storing the bar in a well draining area between uses and not allowing it to sit in a pool of water.

What are the soaps good for?

For cleaning your skin. I cannot legally make claims for any other benefits.

Our soaps are designed to be used for hands, face, and body.
